2009 Inauguration

Today is a historic day for the US, as Barack Obama is sworn in as the 44th President of the United States. It marks a leap forward in race relations for the US, and a hope for major change in our approach to foreign policy, the economy, and how we approach such issues as energy and health care.

To capture the Inauguration Day, a group of Zannel’s political bloggers are braving DC’s cold weather and posting live updates to http://zannel.com/inauguration09.  Watching the channel, it’s been fascinating to see the day’s events unfold from different points-of-view, and how mobile blogging can provide an intimate, real-time view of what’s going on at major events like this.

The Inauguration09 Channel shows the updates of the nine microbloggers who are in Washington D.C. for the Inauguration—many of whom also provided great updates during October’s Democratic National Convention.

You can also follow the bloggers individually:

And if you’re a Zanneler in the DC area and want the Zannel community to see your updates about this historic event, just add: #Inauguration to your update.  This will make it easier for the community to find your updates by searching for #Inauguration. Your updates will also be grouped with all the other updates that have #Yeswecan in them.
