September 2008The Feed – Zannel how you like it!
We released a big improvement to your main Zannel page today, the personalized Feed. The Feed is a place where you can see the stream of Zannel activity that is most important to you. Comments, friend posts, posts from people you are following, or your own posts all show up in that section, and you can configure it to show just what you want. Click on the “feed settings” link to adjust what shows up in your feed.
If you want to see things as you did in the old version of Zannel, you can just select “your updates” in the settings to only see your posts in the Feed. Or click on the “my updates” tab in the top nav bar to see your posts. But maybe you want your feed to display your comments and your friend’s posts? Change the settings, the choice is up to you. Go nuts and try it out.
Ultimately the Feed is a way to make Zannel more relevant to you and your group of friends so you get a better snapshot of what is going on and what people are talking about. Let us know what you think. We’re all ears.

Study: Omitting cell phone users may affect polls
Many of the glut of presidential polls might be skewed by a couple of points or so because they fail to account for voters—especially younger ones—who have cell phones, but not wirelines, according to a report from the Pew Research Center. In its study, Pew said it found registered voters under age 30 who use only cell phones were more likely to be Democrats than those who also have wirelines. We’re going to BlogWorld in Las Vegas
Which I always think of as “Lost Wages” although - in truth - I don’t gamble worth a d*mn - too easily distracted by the sizzle and flash of what else is going on to concentrate on the task at hand I guess! I admire people who can concentrate and in fact know people who can count cards and who have been kicked out of casinos as a result. But I digress.
Zannel is one of the sponsors of this year’s Blog World ... although this makes it sound like this is a show of long-standing tradition when in fact this is only year 2 of the show. We’ve got a smallish booth but will be livecasting from the show floor. If you’re a blogger interested in getting started with nano blogging - which is what we like to call our version of microblogging - 140 characters + a picture or video - be sure to drop by our booth. You can find us easily - we’ll be wearing shirts that say “Nano Bloggers Wanted” on the back of them plus the Zannel logo.
